Feeding Homeless Families

Over the years, we have literally purchased thousands of pounds of food, that have helped to feed hundreds of families! Each care package we put together contains a 5 lb. bag of rice, 2 liters of cooking oil, a large container of tea, powdered milk for children, 2 lbs. of canned meat or chicken, cheese, bread, toilet paper, soap, and a Bible.

Many of you have given towards this project as a $35 donation will feed a family for a week! By helping us to meet the physical needs of refugees in Iraq, many of you have helped us to meet their spiritual needs as well.

Feeding families has led to us being able to present the gospel with power, see people saved, and have families begin and continue to attend church. Many who have never seen a Bible will receive one for the first time in their care package!

Nutrition

The care packages provide much needed nutrition to those families in need.

Health

Cleaning supplies are also included to help keep away sickness.

Continuing to Care for the Homeless

When you think of Iraq, you may not think of snow, frost, and frigid temperatures, but the winter months do bring this type of weather in Kurdistan. As temperatures can average in the low 30’s during the winter, many are in need of things to keep them warm. Many of you have helped us to provide hundreds of coats, blankets, and space heaters for families in need over the years.

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?  Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.  -Matthew 25:35-40
